💥 Statement of Change: From “More Talk Than Action” to the Power of “More Action Than Talk”

The High Price of the Ego Trap

I have always been someone with high energy, deeply believing I could help make everything around me better. I used to talk more than I did because I wanted to share solutions and push for improvements.

But accompanying this positive energy was a significant “ego”: I didn’t want anyone to “lecture me,” and I didn’t realize that everyone else, my colleagues also had a substantial ego and didn’t want to be overwhelmed. As a result, my enthusiasm was often misinterpreted, twisted, and I found myself isolated, simply because I was too well-meaning and unintentionally bruised other people’s egos.

I learned a crucial truth: The goal of improvement is to deliver RESULTS, not to win an argument with words.

I had to completely change my strategy: I decided to shift my energy from “TALKING” to “DOING.”

The Goal Shift – Honoring Others’ Egos with Purposeful Action

This was the step where I transformed from the Competitive Ego to the Purpose-Driven Contributor.

  • The New Rule: I stopped engaging in trivial arguments and complaints. I shifted my focus from announcing my ideas to eliciting consensus through questioning. I learned to ask constructive questions so others’ egos felt respected and included: “What do you think is the root cause of this issue? Where should we start with the action?”
  • Boundary Strategy: My speech became highly selective. When pulled into a drama, I used short phrases to redirect the focus back to the work goal: “I understand. But let’s focus on the solution for Project X instead.”

The Shield of Confirmation – Turning Words into Irrefutable Documentation

I knew that in a competitive environment, results are proof, and documentation is armor. Even though I was “doing more than talking,” I needed to ensure my efforts were officially recognized.

  • The Rule: Any important word, decision, or commitment must be translated into confirmed written form (email, message, meeting minutes). I left nothing vague in verbal communication.
  • The Optimal Practice (Write It Down & Note Everything): Immediately after any discussion, I send a brief, professional summary.“To ensure clarity, I’m summarizing: [Point 1 – Who does what]. Please reply to confirm accuracy so we can proceed together!

Tangible Power – Focusing on More Action Than Talk

This is the peak of the transformation: channeling my abundant energy into measurable results and unquestionable achievements.

  • Energy Conversion: My previously “talkative” energy is now channeled into value-generating action. I no longer offer lengthy explanations; I let my WORK RESULTS speak for themselves.
  • Reporting Strategy: I prioritize DOING, then report using DATA (numbers, charts, bullet points) instead of verbal explanations. This turns my desire for improvement into professional accomplishments that cannot be denied.
  • The Weight of Silence: By focusing on DOING, I naturally avoid unnecessary arguments, protect my mental health, and ensure that when I do speak, people pay attention.

I have found a path to maintain my integrity, continue improving my surroundings, but in a way that is smart, strategic, and highly protected.

If you, too, possess a strong ego and want to channel it into positive action, remember this: Focus on DOING, protect yourself with DOCUMENTATION, and let the RESULTS speak for themselves.
